Everyday Moments

There is a back road we take down to Folsom sometimes.  Running errands and buying random things we probably didn't need allowed us to capture this moment in time.

Chanslor Ranch

After spending the night in the high desert and enjoying the solitude it provided, we were very excited to head to the coast for a drastic change in scenery as well as meeting up with some dear friends.

Bodie Camp

It really does feel like you are on another planet here.  Miles and miles of high desert, mountains in the distance, Mono Lake is just a tiny spec on the horizon, and the only neighbors are the free range cows that wander right by camp.  The only sounds are leaves in the wind, buzzing of a few flies, and the cowbells.  Solitude, peace, and relaxation.

Mud Lake

During the summer in NorCal, everyone heads to Tahoe.  Everyone.  And their brother.  It is so gorgeous, so why wouldn't everyone want to enjoy it?  We love it too and are lucky to be close enough to enjoy it at any point of the year.  This gives us so many opportunities to explore the rest of the Sierra Nevadas with many spots that are just as gorgeous, just as great to visit, and not at all as crowded!  It also helps that many of the roads we explore require 4wd.

Raise the Roof (Top Tent)!

We have been discussing changing our camp set up for a while.  And we finally were ready to do it.  Introducing our new home away from home!

We have loved our off-road tent trailer for many years.  It has been a trusty home at the beach, at the lake, in the mountains, everywhere...

Let's Go For A Picnic

We are so lucky to live where we do.  A few hours west will take us to the ocean, an hour east and we have all of the beauty of the Sierra's.  One of my favorite places though, is a quick drive down the road to this wonderful dirt road where we picnic and watch the sunset.  I'm not sure when we discovered the sunsets here.  It quickly became our secret spot to feel isolated with Mother Nature while being moments away from town and civilization.
