We are so lucky to live where we do. A few hours west will take us to the ocean, an hour east and we have all of the beauty of the Sierra's. One of my favorite places though, is a quick drive down the road to this wonderful dirt road where we picnic and watch the sunset. I'm not sure when we discovered the sunsets here. It quickly became our secret spot to feel isolated with Mother Nature while being moments away from town and civilization.
Whenever She is recovering from surgeries, her energy is low, and her spirit craves the outdoors, peaceful views, tranquility ...and lots of food.
So picnics are the perfect solution! We loaded the Dog in the back, grabbed some snacks, and drove out after work one night. The long nights of summer meant we arrived with plenty of time to watch the sky change colors, to see the way the clouds captured and reflected the light, and to enjoy the show!

Not every adventure is meant to be grand. Sometimes the simple things make the best memories, can help you heal, and provide all of the love you need to keep your spirit light.
